UNIVERSITY OF VA BICENTENNIAL CELEBRATION
Katie Couric, Governor Terry McAuliffe, the Goo Goo Dolls, Hamilton’s Leslie Odom, Jr., Andra Day, The Charlottesville Symphony, and many others launched the University of Virginia’s 200 Year Anniversary Celebration.
Beckon was tasked with securing award-winning and world-renowned entertainers, performers, actors, dancers, and speakers, while providing the client with major production and logistical solutions surrounding the University’s Bicentennial Celebration.
DEVELOPMENT
From talent acquisition and advance, to live event management, consisting of 360-degrees of immersive projection mapping, video, audio and lighting, emergency management, ticketing and show direction were developed by Beckon.
EXECUTION
Beckon’s execution featured over 300 entertainers and allowed nearly 20,000 spectators to celebrate the first 200 years of Thomas Jefferson’s University. Beckon also executed upon the roles of Executive Producer, Show Producer, Directors of Public Safety & Security, among other departments.
SUCCESS
The celebration was like no other, and proved to be a spectacular live event — it featured celebrities, special guests, dignitaries and thousands of ‘Hoos, all ushering in the arrival of UVA’s third century. The event was critically acclaimed by NBC, CBS, ABC, PBS among other news and social media outlets.
